David E. Watson, age 65, of Modoc, Indiana, and formerly of Fountain City, Indiana, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at Arbor Trace after an extended illness.

Born December 29, 1949 in Richmond to Lawrence “Red” and Anna E. (Cressler) Watson, David lived in and around Fountain City and Richmond for most of his life. He was a 1969 graduate of Northeastern High School in Fountain City, Indiana. He previously worked at Dana and retired from Himelick Construction. David formerly served as a member of the Fountain City Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his sisters, Laura Rader of Eaton and Reba Watson of Fountain City; brothers, Stephen Watson of Richmond and William (fiancée Julie) Watson of Union City; nieces and nephews, Brian Rader, Sarah Miller, Karen Seal, and Brad Rader; great niece, Alyssa Miller; and special friends, Sam and Bonnie Cook.
He was preceded in death by his partner, Ruth Johnson; parents, Lawrence “Red” and Anna (Cressler) Watson; and brother-in-law, Larry Rader.

David’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Arbor Trace for the care and compassion they showed to David.

There will be no public visitation or services. The family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

    It has been years since I had seen David, but I do have the memories of our years growing up, with all of you. Dave was a special person and know he will be missed.
